During the meeting, which was attended by the Chairman of the Chamber Badr bin Sulaiman Al-Raziza and moderated by Secretary-General Abdulrahman bin Abdullah Al-Wabel, in the presence of a remarkable number of businessmen and women and those interested, Al-Khalidi said that based on the objectives of the National Transformation Program in the Kingdom, the National Center for Monitoring Environmental Compliance has developed a set of environmental initiatives that It would meet the most important requirements of the National Transformation Program, which is the reduction of pollution of all kinds with the participation of the private sector in the national work. and environmental service providers.
Al-Khalidi indicated that the program seeks to achieve a set of objectives, including increasing the work of inspection and environmental control on industrial and development facilities according to the highest standards of quality in performance and all regions of the Kingdom, in addition to implementing a specialized training program to raise the efficiency of the performance of environmental inspectors, and reduce wrong environmental practices. and environmental pollution resulting from industrial and development facilities, and spreading environmental awareness among industrial and development facilities.
Al-Khalidi stressed that to monitor the environmental compliance of all facilities subject to environmental control, the program worked to implement a comprehensive inspection of the facilities subject to environmental control, develop and update the facilities database periodically, provide devices and equipment, and implement a specialized training program to raise the efficiency of the performance of environmental inspectors, indicating that this has made achievements Several during the last period of the project's life, where the environmental inspection database was updated, as the number of registered facilities reached 21,240 thousand, and the number of facilities visited by the inspection teams reached 19,374 thousand.
